Digital Automatic Climate Control (AC) never has worked.

1st I assumed it needed Freon but found out it had plenty of Freon. The clutch also engaged when AC was turned on. However I could not figure out the problem and I put in a good effort. However years after my attempt to fix I found out why I was unable to figure it out was because my Nissan 1987 Service Manual I was using was 1st Release. Nissan released an Updated Manual that is vastly different. I was wondering why the section on Electrical Climate control never made sense. I assumed I just didn't get it. 1 page would contradict the Page I just read.

So if ANYONE BUYS A SERVICE MANUAL ON LINE be careful make sure they are selling the UPDATED Original Service Manual. I downloaded it and it is in a folder I keep with my Manual. Some Sections are the same but not the Electrical/Heating/Air.

Today I would have to 1st change it over to the new Freon and see if the clutch still comes on as the Freon enters the Compressor. On hot days I tell myself time to attempt to repair again. However I do live in Southern Calif and the car has a T top.So actually I cant really Gripe, Rant, and yell very loud. All in all I believe the 1987 300zx Digital model is still awesome one of the best cars, fun,and practicable (interior has lots of room & its easy to work on) and the reason I still drive it. Not to mention I'm still in control. There are 3 computers in my car but they are not on line like today's cars

That said there is 1 car that I owned back in 86- 89 that was more fun and actually electrifying to drive and that was my Modified 1972 240 Z with a 1982 Turbo engine and that was probably one of the fastest street legal cars at the time but I was always worrying about the Turbo overheating. So where ever I was driving to once I arrived I would let it idle for at least 5 min if possible. The Turbo cooling system was primitive.

Back to AC not working: I always wondered if the auto climate control in a 1988 300zx was more reliable than my 1987
