Outlander Sport

  • 6,060 miles
I just purchased a pre-owned certified 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander sport GT with an odometer of around 6043 miles at time of purchase. In the last 2 days since purchasing, I have noticed that while the car is in stop and go traffic at a complete halt, when pushing on the gas pedal to move forward, there is a waiting delay of a second and then the car surges forward. The delayed response where the car does not immediately accelerate when pushing on the gas can happen after being in a complete stop at an intersection, or on the highway while complete stopping during traffic. Even when pushing harder on the gas pedal to accelerate forward, the car still has a delayed response and then surges forward and this happens when entering into an intersection or crossing that has put me in close call situations. I am currently around 6077 miles and have noticed that there have been recalls announced for the Outlander sport 2016 regarding issues with the cvt and a delayed acceleration. I have contacted my dealer and mentioned the recall at the time of purchase but they said on the carfax that there are no recalls associated with the specific car.
