This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Mitsubishi dealer.

transmission problem
Dealer was great about fixing the problem. A belt disintegrated in the transmission.It took a couple of days to get a new transmission in and to replace it. Could not get a loner car but I had a second vehicle so I used that. Very happy with the Dealer and the quick response to fix my auto.

This is the 2nd time this has become a problem. Bought this car as a first time new car owner, after 38000 miles the transmission went out. The dealership replaced under warranty - now it has 120367 miles and is now out again. I just barely got in the driveway tonight 1/5/2021.
After the replacement trans was installed, I was told by service advisor that the trans was a sealed unit and was not serviceable. Now it's doing it again and am told to have it serviced. My question is, why tell someone it's not serviceable and now that another problem has started tell that person to have it serviced?
If the service advisor had stated to be sure and service it like you should (I WOULD HAVE HAD IT SERVICED), so don't tell them it's not serviceable! Now I will have to have it towed to see if it can be repaired. I have worked on cars a long time so I can change fluids and filters but when told its not serviceable, why bother? Now I find out it does have a filter and things so I ask, why not let the customer know and if the trans needs replaced are they going to honor the warranty like they said they would (100,000 miles on the new trans)?

Crappy cvt transmission blow up at 40000. My wife was driving car on highway when it started racing. Luckily got it back home.
New tranny still sounds awful like its racing. Told by dealer that's normal. We'll see.
