This didn't start off as a significant problem, it did it once then didn't happen again for a month, and it has increased in occurrences since and now does it all the time. While in drive but stopped, the rpms will bounce down to about 500 and feels like the car is going to stall then up to around 1500/2000 and the car wants to lunge. Putting the vehicle in neutral will usually make it stop but not always.

I didn't immediately take the car to the dealership because they had all pulled out of the St. Louis market and the closest one was over 100 miles away. Eventually a dealership opened, brought my car in they told me the ac compressor needs to be replaced, costing around $2200 and it's not covered under warranty even though it directly effects the powertrain system. I just feel that if a component that directly affects the driveability of the vehicle, then it should be covered under powertrain warranty.
