I bought the platinum warranty but Mitsubishi said the clutch is a wear and tear item so not covered. The clutch went out while in 5th gear on the highway. I was quoted $2300 to repair by the dealer. I found a mechanic on my own to do the job with parts and labor for $1100. The clutch should last much longer than 22k miles. I have driven clutch my whole life and never replaced a clutch so quickly. Last car I had didn't need a new clutch until year 14 of driving it. At that point I had 150k miles on the car.

I called corporate Mitsubishi and they didn't warranty the clutch unless I agreed to a tear down of my vehicle and if they deemed the clutch wasn't a factory defect then I paid for the tear down, the reassembly and the clutch replacement. The Platinum Warranty is useless to me in this situation. After the mechanic fixes this I will update with his neutral, third party opinion of what happened with the clutch.
