This was the really the first problem I had with the car. Went on a trip aprox. 250 kms away from home. Stopped to have a bite to eat, then stopped to get gas, as usual I pump my own gas...used the pay at the pump feature. I always check my oil every fill-up. The usual routine, pull the dipstick wipe it off and pull it again, and it's showing maybe 5mm on the end of the dipstick. Of course I panic, look under the car and sure enough an oil leak from the rear of the engine. I only run synthetic, and was half way through needing another service. I paid a very high price for a second rate synthetic oil, put in the liter and pull the dipstick after 5 minutes....it showed it was in the safe zone. I didn't know how much it was leaking so continued my trip and got home after another 300kms. Pulled the dipstick the next morning before the dealership was open and it was dry. Ok I know that after driving only 300 kms and the oil going down MORE than a liter is a pretty severe leak. I wait until 8AM for the local oil change shop to open, so I can have a look at what's going on. Sure enough, oil from the engine to the rear bumper of the car. Added 2 liters of oil to get to the full mark, capacity is only 3.8 liters. Call the dealership to book it in, get an appointment for the afternoon. Figured it was a no brainer, as it's pretty low mileage but I started a new job that made me put on the mileage FAST!

Took it is and in 15 minutes the service advisor comes over and says "Sorry the leak on your car isn't bad enough for us to repair it." I said "The car puked out a full oil change in 550kms, how is that not bad??" He responded by saying "We can not verify that as fact." I of course said "It's the Exxon Valdez under my car and you say it's not bad enough??" He responded by simply saying Sorry and handed back my keys. Now I work on cars alot and was beside myself that they wouldn't fix it....I also know that the PCV valve is very important the operation of the engine, and seal longevity. I went to another dealership in town and ordered a PCV valve (dealer ONLY part, and I did my research, and it was $40), which by the way had to come from California, USA. because Mitsubishi of Canada does not have a parts warehouse IN Canada!! (The ONLY car company that sells cars in Canada that doesn't) 2 week wait for the valve....2 WEEKS!!! Meanwhile I am driving my Dodge (costing me huge in gas) because it doesn't leak or burn ANY oil. Put the valve in, a week later I stopped having to add oil. This was only the beginning of the nightmare, and NOT the last time I was denied warranty! Mitsubishi Canada is of no help as they stand behind the dealership! Please whatever you do, DO NOT support Mitsubishi...Buy a Dodge!!!
