At around 9500 miles, car began slipping, sticking gears, lurching, hard shifting--was diagnosed as failed valve body on transmission. They sent me home to wait for part--10 days later it came--meanwhile, symptoms progressively worsened to the point where I had a hard time getting up to speed in a timely manner to get on freeway--had gas pedal to floor going 45 mph when it finally jammed into gear. The part was replaced and within ten days it began same symptoms--I test drove it with tech and it hard shifted getting on freeway--they sent me home again and said they would have to "get ahold of Mitsubishi" --24 hours later, they had only been able to leave a message for the corp. tech. I called Mitsubishi and said I did not feel safe driving it while they played phone tag--they had me bring car in and trade for a rental. Meanwhile, techs decided to put 6 more parts on transmission--O/D Clutch Assembly, O/D Seal, Input Seal, Output Seal, and O-ring--I have since talked to an independent mechanic who says that when the valve body failed, there was probably internal damage to the transmission, and they are putting bandaids on the problem--no one has checked for internal damage. I feel I have a defective car that the value has plummeted on, and my faith in the dealership, Mitsubishi, and my car are at zero. I filed a complaint on the nhtsa.gov site, and there is already one other compaint on the transmission. I have had to make 5 trips to the dealership in 5 weeks, and I am very angry.
