I take pride in my vehicle! But for the past couple of years - I am sick and tired of having to crawl thru front passenger door (when it does open) to get inside of vehicle to drive and then to do the same thing because I am not able to open the door due to the door panel sticking. This started in 2016, with the front drivers side door sticking and seeing the panel catching - then the passenger door decided to join in. I have taken off doors to replace all clips - only to have the issue repeat itself. Now, I have no passenger door panel in my car and once again the drivers side has decided to start sticking. I have to either kick the door panel to get it unstuck or wretch out my shoulder.
I called Mitsubishi dealer in local area and asked if there was a recall for this issue - was advised no recalls. Then dealer advised that one (1) clip cost $2.86 and that I needed at least 20 clips per door, plus $75 labor (if dealer to fix the problem) - that was a wtf moment!
I searched local parts stores and found packs of 10 for $3.86 - what a difference in price?
I changed the clips and re-attached door panels to doors - WALLA! it happened again after just a couple of days.
Mitsubishi - if you truly care about your Mitsubishi customers, please add this issue to the the recall list - I feel this is a major safety concern - if someone gets into an accident and is unable to get out of their vehicle due to this issue - I can see Mitsubishi being sued for negligence (because the door wouldn't open).
