This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Had wheel cylinders replaced -- left rear in 2004 and right rear in Dec 2005. Went for oil change today and asked the mechanic to pull of rear wheels because the brakes didn't feel right to me. Right rear was soaked in brake fluid and left rear had just started to leak. Right rear had also started to seize up due to brake fluid coating the shoes. Wheel cylinders shouldn't fail after only 4 months -- and even 2 years seems like it is a short period of time. Have had other cars and never had this issue. Also, front rotors seem to warp out really fast -- as in once a year. I drive car normal and am not harsh on the brakes.
