After losing the FM radio for about a month - it was horrible - I bought it into to Mini-Cooper of Birmingham. After paying $1500 for servicing and $250 to "program" the "radio." we set off home. It wasn't but a short time later the engine started sounding like a swing machine was about to explode. Mechanic told us not to drive it and the ONLY Mini service dealer in the state is in Birmingham. It was a $750 roll-back tow we couldn't afford, so we finally found a certified mechanic nearby.

It should be noted that we have full-service Car-Shield coverage from about day one, so felt relatively secure. Now, with the engine in parts, the mechanic "broke both legs" in an auto accident yesterday and I am back in Mini-Cooper Hell. Car Shield keeps wanting to send inspector, and not a peep from Mini-Cooper of Birmingham. I am a disabled service connected veteran who bought the thing for a forever car. I think my warranty still has a few months left and I am walking with a family to feed. PLEASE NEVER buy a mini-cooper product - they are the worse.

On top of everything else, the Countryman will FLIP on you at highway speeds if you're not extra careful on steering wheel inputs... I know cause it got up on two wheels in a nano-second behind a semi-trailer and I believe God was watching over us. I thought we had bought it.

OVERPRICED, EXTREMELY BAD QUALITY WORKMANSHIP, A DEATH TRAP WITH THE SMALLEST ENGINE AND SLUGGISH PERFORMANCE. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am at my wits end and believe that it's the biggest LEMON I have ever encountered.
