According to Mini-Cooper of Birmingham... EVERYTHING runs off the radio, including timing and other engine functions. When JUST the FM went out, we paid to replace and PROGRAM the WHOLE radio. I believe it ultimately had a lot to do with the timing chain going out less than two weeks from the radio service call. The service guy said it was necessary for everything in the car to run right. I HATE AM radio but not nearly as much as this PO junk Mini Cooper they talked me into buying. I sit now with a totaled timing chain. Oh yes... Car Shield sent TWO inspectors down to inspect it and it's still not fixed. It makes me sick and I am at the end of an old rope. Any suggestions??? Please?
