I love the car, but the MINI dealership here is ridiculous! Before I bought my 2014, I had a 2008 Cooper S. I had a few problems and took the 2008 to them to have it checked out. It was obvious that there was an oil leak issue, as the car would smoke only after seconds of being idle. I also had an issue of weird sound coming from the rear drivers side wheel.
Once the car was evaluated, they told me that there was nothing wrong with the engine and that I needed four new tires. I then took it to a private mechanic and found that there was a leak in the engine and a wheel bearing that needed replacing. Sad to know that I spent $159/hr to have the dealership to look at it and it was not under warranty and still did not get an actual answer. But I took it to a mechanic that did not charge me anything to look at it and got an honest answer. I should have took this situation seriously and not purchased another MINI.
Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely in love with my MINI, but it is entirely too stressful dealing with the local dealer. I know it sounds as if my actual issue is with the dealership, but it is frustrating that my car continues to have the same issue, twice now in one year.
I began to have issues with my sunroof in November 2014, I live in Florida, so sunroof's are an all year thing here. I took my car to the dealership in December. It was not fixed immediately, because the dealership was not completely sure at first at to what the problem was exactly. After a few days of poor communication, I chose to pick up my car and was negligent of wanting to take it back. But I waffled and gave in to have the sunroof repaired. About 4 weeks ago my sunroof started doing the exact same thing it did before. ARRRRR
