Sure wish I would have researched Mini Cooper's before I purchased one as I didn't realize that engine fires were so prevalent with these cars! They just spontaneously combust and burn up.... WOW! All I can say is I sure hope other people read this and other posts about these death traps before it's too late. I was lucky to get the car stopped and get out before it was fully engulfed in flames and COMPLETELY destroyed within 10 mins. I called Mini customer service and a "claims agent" called back to inform me that I was sh*t out of luck and that Mini was not at fault even after I went through the entire story again and explained that the firefighters and police stated that it had to be an electrical fire that started in the engine compartment. To say it was disappointing to find out a company doesn't stand behind their product to make something right when it is clearly a manufacturing problem is an understatement. What a bunch of crap these tiny tin cans are! Now, each time I see one on the road I cringe and would like to warn the driver. Please, please don't buy one of these cars!!!
