The contact owns a 2002 Mercury Sable. While attempting to pull out of a parking space at an unknown speed, the contact heard a popping sound and then a rubbing noise. She parked the vehicle. A mechanic arrived at the scene to diagnose the vehicle and stated that the sway bar failed, which ruined the struts and cv boot. The mechanic replaced the sway bar, struts, and cv boot. The vehicle also had to be realigned. The current and failure mileages were 32,000. Updated 07/15/08. The mechanic stated the sway bar was made of plasitc instead of metal. Updated 07/15/08
