I purchased 2008 Mountaineer from dealership in 09/2015 had no issues until 04/2016 when i came out of store would not turn over. I ck cables ect. waited several mins then it turned over and started.I cleaned battery posts and put new terminal ends on. problem continued on occasion,it would start thoughout the day then nothing, would wait about 30 or 40 mins. then it would turn over and start. Next put new starter on same thing would happen, so my mechanic ran a wire from the starter up to area of battery whenever it would not start with key turned i would touch wire to positive post and i would be on my way.However on 07/07/2017 this did not work so i called road service before he arrived after sitting for 30 mins. or so it turned over and started. Not sure where i should take it, had it at dealer last year they suggested i replace battery so i did,went 5 weeks and problem only happened once then issue continued to increase again.Some days i would pop hood multiple times other days maybe once. There were times when i would turn key 4 or 5 times and it would start. Another mechanic said it was a mystery.
