Aside from this car being an absolute nightmare with maintenance this was the last thing I was expecting to see on my wishlist just before my birthday and christmas (and lets not forget tax return season being thrown out the window here possibly). Got the car back in 2013-2014 and had roughly 40k miles at the time, now in 2015 there was a recall for the EPaS and had took the car in to the dealership and had the car checked out as OK and had the parts needed replaced free of charge. Now fast forward to 2018 just a week or two away from my birthday, i'm out going to get food and along the way i get a chime on the dash saying "service power steering soon" but the wheel didn't have any rough resistance and still drove like normal until i had picked up my food. After starting the car again the dash now says "service power steering now" and "advancetrac failure" or something of the sort. This COULD NOT have come at a better time just before the holidays and only months before the car is paid off and to top that off wanting to go back to school as well, now if ford knew that previous models had a faulty EPaS why are they not doing another round for the first year "advancetrac" cars? this issue seems to be a pretty common one as of recently and just the other week I was slapped in the face by the dealership for a "airbag recall" after i just called them about my power steering situation and was told that because it "wasn't an 'official' ford recall" that there is nothing they can do, seriously!? do they not know not everybody has $1600+ or even more to replace a system this bad??? if anyone has any info as to what work that was needed and how much it hurt your wallet please let me know because I am saving every penny I possibly can thinking of the worst case scenario hoping I get lucky that its a minor issue (and that's a big IF with all the info i'm seeing on this issue now)
