To date, the agency has received 18 complaints regarding the shattering glass. According to the various reports, the problem can occur both when the tailgate is open and closed.

I was simply closing the hatch and the glass EXPLODED! It actually blew the window brackets out side the car. Glass flew into the car and about 8 ft outside the car. There was no slamming of the hatch. Just a simple closing and wow. Insurance will cover it to be repaired..... but they need to look into this. This is bad.
