VIN in this form would not let me add the 17th digit. The 17th digit is a 6. I shut rear door of Mercury Mariner and rear window shattered-exploded into little pieces no larger and 1 inch. Temperature 40 degrees. Cloudy. No one was injured. Shattered pieces fell onto a parking lot.
