2007 Mercury Grand Marquis. Consumer writes regarding defective seat belt reminder chimes the consumer stated he noticed the seat belt chimes did not work. The consumer returned to the dealer and was informed to reactivate the seat belt chimes, he would have to pay to do so, because it was not a warranty item. The dealership finally agreed not to charge the consumer. When the dealer proceeded to activate the chime, they noticed the system was broken and the piece would cost $675. The part was not included in the warranty. The dash light indicator for the drivers side worked. However, the passenger side indicator did not.
