2007 Mercury Grand Marquis and 2007 Ford Crown Victoria owner manuals incorrectly state that the 8th character of the VIN # must be a "2" for the car to have a flex fuel engine capable of using E-85. This is incorrect. The 8th character must be a "V" for the car to have the flex fuel engine. This will be very misleading for consumers. The cover on the fuel tank lid says ethanol or unleaded gasoline only. Most consumers will not know this means they can use E-85 as E-85 is not mentioned on the gas cap or cover.
