I have had this light module problem twice now where the lights simply turned off while driving at night. The first time my son was driving on a dark winding road at night and narrowly missed an accident when he luckily reached for light dimmer lever and found you could get light by pulling back to bright position. I had the problem repaired at that point but was not told of any recall. That was in December 2013. The second event happened to me at night on 07/30/2014. Fortunately I was in a streetlight area.
The dealership is now stalling and will do nothing for us in almost 6 weeks expecting me not to drive at night I suppose. My wife and I are caretakers of elderly parents and only have one other car that is shared with my son. This is an extremely aggravating situation and potentially dangerous. I can't imagine there has been no accidents reported which is what dealership is saying. They will also not bypass the module so I can have lights until they obtain the module saying it is a liability. Sounds kind of ironic to me.
