In order to drive car, you have to turn ignition key to on, shift car to reverse, then turn off key, turn key back to the first position to put car in neutral. Then you can start the car and drive it. Otherwise if you try to do it normally, it will not come out of park period! The brake lights just quit working 7/7/2009.
Update from Jul 13, 2009: Replaced the Interlock Switch, at Auto Zone in Norwalk, CA, it cost $7.99 + tax. If you know even the most minimum of car maintenance, you can do it. It only took me 15 minutes. I'm not that mechanic inclined, so about anyone can do it. I read on the various Internet Forums, that some people paid as much as $200.00, and one person said they had to weld in the new part? I know each car is different, but weld it?? Go figure. Hope this helps out the next person.
