Mercedes-Benz TSB #NCU-2023060005
2009 Mercedes-Benz ML350
TSB Document:
Affected Component: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary
- Mercedes-Benz AG ("MBAG"), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year (âÂÂMYâÂÂ) 2009-2012 GL-Class, ML-Class, R-Class, and S-Class (164/166, 251, 221 platforms) vehicles, the coding for the engine control unit does not correspond to the specifications as part of the âÂÂBlueTEC updateâ diesel field measure (aka âÂÂEmission ModificationâÂÂ). This could result in the VIN number not being read out from the vehicle. This could affect the vehicle smog check. MBUSA will conduct an Emission Service Campaign in which an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the SCN coding for the engine control unit on the affected vehicles.
