Easy Solution To Main Window Switch Problem - I was having the same problem with the drivers window switch. There is an easy solution at the link: http://www.grill.org/rodney/mclass/mlswitch/
Apparently the switch contacts are too 'soft' which over time causes the gap to widen until one or more functions of the switch fail.( Usually driver 'up' goes first .) Following the easy instructions, these contacts can be bent back slightly into original spec. Now the switch works, saving you a $500 repair.
One night I get home and as I'm raising the passenger window and it suddenly stops. I then try to wiggle the switch and it moves just bit more then nothing at all. It started to sprinkle a-little and I panicked. I thought, wow, the window motor just burned out and it's going to cost me hundreds of $ to fix and not even sure that's the issue.
I decided to just take apart the switch control module in the center console and see if the switch was broken or a loose wire possibly. After taking apart the center console and the switch module I found it to be fairly easy to fix. It turns out that carbon builds up between the tiny contacts I took a small pin and bent it at the tip on a 90 degree angle and scratched the surface between the contacts. I got some black residue on the tip of the pin and blew some compressed air. I put it back together and it worked perfectly. Seems it's a common issue with these switch modules. I posted a video of the process. Very simple to fix just make sure to be relaxed and have patience to do this as if your not careful you can break things and make the problem worse.
Tools you will need
Phillips screwdriver
Small thin flat head screwdriver
Very good flash light
Sewing pin with the tip bent at 90 degree
Small cup to hold all the disassembled parts and screws
Compressed air can or good lungs

Window will go down but switch will not work to put window back up. Since it is winter this is a pain in the ass. Can't use drive through food windows or drive up ATMs. Already had the window regulator replaced in the driver side door but the switch still worked because you could hear the motor try to put the window up, it was just off track and the regulator was bad. Now the switch is bad and won't work.
