pretty bad
brakes problem
going down a mountain. my front brakes locked up and the bas/esp light came on. i never touched the brakes they just locked up by themselves. it was really terrifying since i was going about 45 mph. It happen about three times. i finally got it to a repair shop the same day. they said it was the yaw sensor and repaired it. it has not happened again but it has only been repaired for a couple of days. this should be recalled seeing it is eventually going to cause a several accident.

Now reading all the other complaints, I see this is not unusual at all. I've had this happen 3 times now... all 3 times at Freeway speeds of 60-65 MPH. I was traveling in traffic at around 50 MPH on a hot 79+ degree day with no rain or water on the road, the road was rather smooth... and all of a sudden the brakes locked up and the orange triangle on the speedo started to flash. I was able to get to the side of the road, and shut off the vehicle... I finally was able to get out of the rig (had to wait quite awhile as traffic was heavy) walked around vehicle and looked at tires... all were up and fine. Started the rig up and the triangle was still on, so I punched the ES_ button and was able to start up and go another 15 miles to small town I live in. Shut off the vehicle went into the store for 10-15 min and came out and started it up... tried to drive out of the parking lot, and each time I applied the brakes it would lock them up and start flashing the lights. Made it home and it quit in the driveway.
THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A VERY BAD ACCIDENT FOR MYSELF AND MY 18 YR OLD DAUGHTER... I THANK GOD, SHE WAS NOT DRIVING PLEASE HELP
Update from Apr 24, 2016: It happened again, at around 25-30 MPH, and turning right... almost hit a parked car
Update from Apr 7, 2017: Had the yaw sensor replaced... to the tune of $1100 at dealership. Later found part online used for about $45.. on well...
Seems to have fixed the problem and my ride is back

Was Driving with family on I-80 in the middle lane towards Davis, CA. Speed was about 60mph. Was a smooth drive until a sudden screeching sound with all four wheel breaks locked and vehicle stopping all by itself. Managed to bring the vehicle to the the right most lane to the curb. My family was terrified and the drivers behind were honking. I maintain my vehicle very well, not missing any mfr suggested services and regular oil changes.
I am sure that this is a manufacturing defect but the Mercedes customer service say that there was no recall for this type of incident. I like MBZ cars and I own two of them. I am hoping the Mercedes will look into these incidents and rectify it before something terrible happens.

My wife , kids and I were driving down the road , just pulling away from a busy intersection when one of the front brakes locked up causing us to be hit in the rear, scratching the rear bumper cover. The car jerked and squealed one of the tires and pulled to the left hard , at which time the hazard light came on. The car did this several more times until we could get it moved off the road and into a lot. I feel the car is unsafe in this condition and reading other complaints , I feel Mercedes should fix this problem and not be like GM on their ignition switch problem ! Fix it before someone gets hurt or killed !!!

I DO NOT WANT TO THINK THEY DO IT ON PURPOSE. WE BETER SHARE OUR EXPERIENCES AND HOPE WE CHOSE THE RIGTH CAR TO DRIVE! BLESSINGS !
