The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 50,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Mercedes-Benz Glk350. While the vehicle was stationary, fuel spilled from the fuel pump into the cabin of the vehicle under the front driver and passenger seats. Mercedes-Benz of fort Washington (404 Pennsylvania ave, fort Washington, pa 19034) was made aware of the failure and stated that the fuel pump and relays needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
