This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Collision prevention assist presents false positives (dash indicator lights and beeps) when passing cars in adjacent lane on left. This has happened at least twice a month when driving in heavy traffic. At no time has it proved helpful and is in fact distracting and dangerous. Dealer tested system and found it to be with specs. It can be disabled but will be reactivated every time the car is started. I've considered electrical taping the sensor but dealer warned against it. This system should be removed from cars!
