I was driving my husband's 2016 E350 at 45 mph when the car accelerated. I attempted to control the speed by braking but the brake did not respond well. The steering wheel was also loose. The car sped up and turned left to the opposite side of the road, crossed the two lanes and hit the fence followed by a tree. The car was totaled, and the tree broke down at its branches. I survived the crush with two fractures on my back and on my left thumb.

I was driving on North Shepherd Drive in Houston, TX, at a speed of approximately 35 MPH. While I was lightly braking to slow down for an upcoming intersection where I wished to turn, the car flashed 2 error lights--Frontal Collision Avoidance System Inoperable, and Traction Control System Inoperable. At that moment, the car began to accelerate out of my control. It began to accelerate at a pace comparable to a full-throttle acceleration. At that moment, I turned off the vehicle and coasted to the side of the road. After a moment, I turned the car back on, electrical components responded as normal. However, there was a fluttering movement on the RPM levels on the tachymeter--even at idle levels.

Car shown intermittent problem of not accelerating when gas pedal is pushed. It will give many jerky movements but then after few minutes driving like this it will normalize. I took it twice to dealer and they could not identify or replicate problems. Then my wife taking kids to school has similar problem so I got scared for safety of kids and wrote to their head quarter. They told me to take the car back to dealer and leave it for 5-6 days so they can try to find the problem. After few days they gave me "great news" that they confirm the problem and identify the source it is"water in the gas" I was told that costco and smith sell cheaper gas but quality is not good and told me to watch" channel 3"where there was a report in this regard. I told them that I don't buy this theory as costco and smith are two big companies to allow this lacking and I see thousands of other motorists getting their tank filled there. They told me that mb will not guarantee until gas has not changed and I agreed to change the gas and get later fill up from "chevron".or the safety of my kids I still follow their recommendations and gas is only refilled from chevron but as I suspected this is not the problem as car continues to have similar problem and will not speed up by pushing accelerator intermittently. Due to risk car is almost kept in garage and used only for intense need.

My wife was traveling at 65 miles per hour in the high occupancy vehicle lane of the long island expressway when the car suddenly decelerated and a warning light came on the dashboard. The vehicle would not allow her to accelerate any longer and she became disabled instantly causing an extremely dangerous situation for her. Obviously she had to attempt to get off the highway, or at least onto the shoulder. However she had to cross four lanes of traffic while going twenty miler per hour.
