Received a recall notice for airbag NHTSA id 19V010. I have tried for 2 years to get it replaced. They say it is still on hold. No parts.it appears they are not that concerned about this. I thought airbags are necessary in a accident to save lives. The car is now 7 years old. Are they waiting for it to die first?

I received a letter over 2 years ago and have called mb repeatedly about the repair. They say it hasn't been resolved yet but once they do they will let owners know. As best I can tell the issue is not replacing the faulty airbag because they don't want to outlay the cost. BMW tried this with another car I owned and after several calls they finally sent a replacement to the dealer and replaced it, . how is it mb can keep going on almost 3 years without doing anything? if my child gets hurt due to this I would be forced to pursue litigation. It seems like they are just dragging their feet.
Recall notices and failure to provide a remedy for steering column issues, etc. Which present potential for dangerous airbag deployment, have surfaced no resolution. Dealerships have ignored questions and representatives have been hostile when asked about numerous safety issues.
