The contact owns a 2007 Mercedes Benz E350. The contact stated while seated in the vehicle the sunroof button was pressed to open the sunroof however the sunroof collapsed inwards. The contact took the vehicle to (Mercedes-Benz of South Mississippi,11619 bobby eleuterius blvd, D'iberville, ms 39540) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 19V918000 (visibility). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,941.
When positioning the sunroof switch to close, the roof retracted about 75% of the way and then opened all the way once again. Hitting the switch again to close it caused the roof to go back and forth, while not closing at all. After ~1 minute or so it finally closed.
