In our continuing efforts to assure the proper performance of Mercedes-Benz products and to enhance the satisfaction of our customers, Mercedes-Benz AG (â??MBAGâ??), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, is extending the warranty coverage on the fuel filter unit in certain Model Year (â??MYâ??) vehicles listed below from the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 4 years/50,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) due to the following condition: The fuel filter unit might need to be replaced due to minor fuel seepage at the fuel filter flange that could result in fuel odor and/or an activation of the check engine Malfunction Indicator Lamp (â??MILâ??). Note that a risk of fire has been ruled out based on the nature of the fuel seepage and the distance to hot components.
