I have had the same experience as a lot of people. Car has always performed well. Parked it one day and the red light came on brakes see dealer. Was told it was the brake shoes. Replaced those but they weren't worn, replaced the stop light switch. Light Still on. Took it to the MB dealer in Lubbock and was told it is $2,500 to repair. Seems to me if they knew it was a recall but some people's light hadn't come on yet, why not set aside those parts of funds to cover the recall. MB made these cars and knew the units were crap within a year or two. Now there are people out driving cars with brakes that are going to fail on them.

Mercedes has said they fixed the problem years ago with recall. This is dangerous, scary, when car just shuts down. It takes a while to stop even at low speeds. This is still a problem that Mercedes should cover as this is obviously defective. I have been driving a rental for over 2 weeks as this is very expensive to repair. I would NEVER own another Mercedes.

We called Mercedes back east and they wouldn't go on the record but they might pay for half. That only means they won't. What can I do? If I could buy another car I would, but can't.
