fuel leaking under rr seat

My vehicle was about 9years old when I noticed a heavy smell of gasoline after fueling up. It was so strong I feared my car would blow up if someone lit a cigarette. I found a lot of people complaining of the same problem on the National website for car complaints. Many people were told that Mercedes wouldn't fix the problem under a recall. I just had mine repaired at the dealer with no charge to me. The dealer said there was a recall to repair this until 2020. I never received a notice of this from Mercedes Benz. Took my car to the dealer last week for brakes and I mentioned the gasoline problem. The dealer performed a test and said the tank is leaking under the rear seat. They replaced the tank, pump and all other items to do with fuel, at no charge to me. I noticed, prior to the repair, if I only filled my tank 3/4 full, there was no gasoline odor. Good luck to those who have the same problem.
