- Summary
- Cracking and creaking noise from area of inner B-pillar when driving on rough terrain. Spot welds in the area of the inner B-pillar could cause noises due to tension or contact of the sheet metal. 1. Park vehicle in the sun/heat and allow it to warm up. 2. Then perform a test drive; the noise complaints must be reproducible. 3. Remove upper B-pillar trim. 4. Mark the position of the bore in the upper area of the B-pillar with the aid of the spacer disk. 5. Drill through the sheet metal. 6. Push the hexalobular bolt through the bore, attach the spacer disk and fasten it completely with the nut-and-washer assembly. The two sections of sheet metal are firmly pressed together during fastening. 7. Perform a test drive and check the effectiveness. 8. Reproduce the anticorrosion protection in the working area according to manufacturer specifications. 9. Install remaining parts.
