Second brand new C300 in 3 months. First given back to dealer due to electrical problems and excess wind noise. Second one dropped off at dealer two days ago and asked them to look at due to the "ticking" sound when idling. When called, told me my new car had either broken a piston or something more traumatic. Have to tear engine apart and potentially have to replace entire engine. Will take at least 2-3 weeks to evaluate. Who knows how long to fix......
I will have to file a claim with Mercedes if engine needs to be replaced. What?!!! Seriously. Called BS. Was then told that "every" car breaks at some point. Was also told I could take to BMW or Lexus to try and trade in before they started work on it - trying to get rid of me and the problem.
Second new Mercedes in three months? There is obviously a serious quality problem with Mercedes these days. Do not buy a C300.
