A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I received a recall inovember 2017 and am unable to get mb to make an appointment to fix an insufficient grounding component in the steering wheel which may causes an electrostatic discharge which deploys the takata airbag with resultant accident occurrence. I am in fear when driving. Mb has not responded to my request. They have not provided me with a safe car; they have ignored requests; they have given no answer to my letter and phone calls to CEO exler in atlanta or any person in manhattan main office. They have devalued the worth of my car if I tried to sell it. They have ripped off the system, while spending millions on marketing. Cars they produced for 2018 were sold with recalls. There are millions on the road from 2012 through 2018 that I have found so far from government published lists of recalled Mercedes Benz models. When will I learn there are accidents already caused by these recall failures" millions will be spent for hush money to the media, but no money for recall correction.I have serviced my car per manual direction, and prior to recall had extended my warranty by two years to the tune of $2800+++ will you answer this complaint? should all of us so affected hold our breaths"

Takata recall - per the NHTSA and Mercedes website information our vehicle is included in NHTSA recall #16V081 which is the driver's frontal airbag inflator. We have not received any notification from Mercedes related to this recall and/or when our vehicle's airbag inflator will be fixed. We therefore contacted Mercedes Benz customer service who escalated our concern to one of their managers. We received a call on 4/6/18 from patricia wagner who stated she represented Mercedes Benz and advised they will not replace our drivers side airbag inflator. She further advised that the NHTSA recall information is incorrect and that recall #16V081 is a passenger side airbag inflator recall and that we needed to contact NHTSA and spreak with a supervisor to find out why they (NHTSA) were providing incorrect information.

Takata recall-- I contacted Mercedes Benz customer assistance and although there were 15 deaths associated with this recall, their representative verbally indicated to me that the vehicle is safe to drive, she promised a written letter stating that but I have not received it. She also indicated that all parts for the 2 recalls won't be available until September 2019. In the meantime they have no policy to provide a car rental stipend or a car loaner. Other manufacturers with cars with similar problems offered such remedies in turn for a signed document that says you would not drive your vehicle until the part is available. My significant other had use of a loaner from Nissan for 3 months! please let me know what can be done to have Mercedes provide financial support with a car rental or loaner so I do not have to drive a car that is viewed as unsafe.

This is regarding recall number NHTSA 17V627 and manufacturer # 2017100005. Summary of recall: Daimler ag (dag), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain B-class electric, C-class, E-class and cla, gla, glc, glk-class vehicles (242, 204, 205, 207, 212, 117, 156, 253 platform) an electrostatic discharge, when combined with a broken steering column module clock spring and an insufficient grounding of the steering components, could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag. A broken steering column module clock spring activates a driver airbag warning message in the instrument cluster, as well as the red airbag warning lamp. An inadvertent driver airbag deployment may cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash. I contacted an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer and was told the part to fix the recall issue is not yet available. I find this unacceptable given it could "cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash". what recourse do I have regarding this and to ensure my vehicle is repaired & safe in a more timely manner? it has now been over 5 months since the recall was issued!

There's a recall for a grounding issue that can affect the airbags on the vehicle, this issue was detected in Oct/2017 and it is unacceptable that they haven't received parts to fix this problem yet. Are they waiting for accidents to happen while they save money?

I received two safety recall notices from daimler ag (dag) regarding air bag issues since October 2017, both of which indicate that "remedy not yet available." The most recent one (issued January 2018) is related to the takata recall: "according to takata, in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants" the first recall, issued October 2017 relates to: "daimler ag (dag), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain B-class electric, C-class, E-class and cla, gla, glc, glk-class vehicles (242, 204, 205, 207, 212, 117, 156, 253 platform) an electrostatic discharge, when combined with a broken steering column module clock spring and an insufficient grounding of the steering components, could lead to an inadvertent deployment of the driver airbag. A broken steering column module clock spring activates a driver airbag warning message in the instrument cluster, as well as the red airbag warning lamp. An inadvertent driver airbag deployment may cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash. Consequence an inadvertent driver airbag deployment may cause a risk of injury to the driver and might increase the risk of a potential crash." It is unacceptable that daimler has not yet provided remedies for these situations.

Takata recall I want to go on record how disappointed I am that parts are not yet available for such a dangerous recall. Stating 'airbag explosion causing sharp metal fragments striking the occupants causing serious injury or death' is extremely serious and dangerous. Other options should be made available immediately. I intend to talk with my Mercedes dealer as well. This may put undue burden on the dealers as well. Newer vehicles should be made available to customers if this is not resolved. There is a high risk factor and increased apprehension every time I drive the vehicle.
