The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Mercedes-Benz of stevens creek (4500 stevens creek blvd, san jose, ca 95129, (408) 641-4610) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Description of the security risk your passenger side airbag is affected by this recall based on the default decision of tk holdings, Inc. (takata). In certain circumstances during a crash that requires frontal airbag deployment, the defect in the passenger side airbag inflator can cause the airbag to explode during deployment and could result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, causing serious injury or death.

Car was reassigned in last letter from group 4 to group 5 -- odd because car is from 2010 and in South Florida.

Takata recall. Received notices but every time I call they are not available to be replaced. Car in high heat and humidity and 8 yrs old. Feel like I am waiting for a time bomb to explode. They do not care about the safety of their customers. Never buy a Mercedes again.

Takata recall my car has been under recall for the passenger and driver side airbags for over 2 years now. I live in Texas which is in zone a of the recall and according to a diagram that Mercedes sent us with the recall letter, the time the inflator is expected to rupture is in 6-9 years. This car is currently 8 years old which would put it at extreme risk and Mercedes still does not have a fix for this. They also refuse to offer a loaner car. They recently stated that a replacement would be available in last June of 2018 however they have now delayed that again to December 2018.

I've now been stuck with a car that is unsafe and unsellable due to these parts not being available for years. The new date is now "unknown at this time".
