Over the past year I have experienced intermittent car starting (when I least expect it, too).

Battery was replaced a month ago, and it's reading fully charged when tested.

I have over half a tank of gas, and my car isn't turning over.

Tried getting it towed to the shop, but due to the wheels being locked in a turned position I am unable to roll it straight onto the tow truck.

I drove to the gym and when I was going to leave after my workout I was unable to start the car. The interior dash cluster lights up and the car locks and unlocks, but the steering wheel is locked and I am unable to start the ignition even when I turn the key in the ignition (nothing happens).

I have experienced this multiple times over the past year, which lead to me having the steering lock and battery replaced one month ago for ($1,350). Since the "repair" my car has been consistently starting until recently. I thought the problem was gone, and I am wrong.

2010 C300 with 60k let my wife and kids sit on two occasions. Both incidents where while picking up children from practices. Prior to either incident the car had been running fine then suddenly would not restart. Lights and radio all worked fine, engine would not turn over.

On the first occurrence I was told it was a ground fault in the head light switch, local mechanic replaced for $500. Then a few days later the car engine was struggling to start, so we took it to the local MB dealer. They kept the car for 9 days while running tests. Eventually came up with it needing a new starter, spent an additional $970. Car let my wife sit for the second time a few days later. MB dealer paid to have it towed to their shop and has now replaced a two year old battery with new one under warranty.

Car looks great and with so few miles I can't believe I'm in the market for a new car again. Will never do MB again. Expect higher quality from a luxury brand!

Went on a few errands today and came out about 3pm and go somewhere esle and car would not start. Key turned, lights, radio, everything on but nothing happens. Went by a Mercedes Benz Mechanic and he started it might be the EIS and steering lock system but did I have another key to try, I don't. Would have to get it towed to dealer to order another key and if that doesn't work EUIS and steering lock would have to be replaced. Would cost me around $1,000 with him. With this happening on som many C300s, seems like MB would do something about it. We Shall See!
