While accelerating on the onramp to a SoCal freeway the car lurches and then goes into ‘limp mode’ and the check engine light appears. This happened with freeway speeds of +70 mph. Needless to say caused me to pull over to the side of the road, also very hazardous.
I was able to correct the limp mode issue by turning the key 5 times to clear the fault. Limping off the freeway is not an option as the next off ramp was past an interchange.
Sometime after, my wife received a letter from MBenz USA regarding Important Warranty Extension Information, High Pressure Fuel Pump, model years 2012 – 2014, including C250, C250 coupe, SLK250. This extended the warranty from the original to a ten-year, 120,000 mile coverage. If you’ve encountered this issue, contact your local MB dealer. The clock is ticking.
