I bought this car in Geneva Switzerland in 1992, with the dealer knowledge that it will be shipped to Panama, Republic of Panama. When in Panama in 1993, I gave it to Mercedes for maintenance and for my surprise they kept it for approx. three or four months with the excuse of not available spare part, without further explanation. They were reluctant to give more information. In a trip to Europe in 1993 i went to complaint to stutgart headquarters and they explained me that the electrical engine cables need to be changed. Finally after three or four months the cables were received in Panama and i got my car back. My car was running well for the next six year. I never, ever, sent it to Mercedes dealer for maintenance. The point is that for my surprise, approx. three years ago, my mechanic, a private one, no Mercedes, told me that the same cables need to be changed. After this bad news i started inquiring if this car has a factory defect without positive result. The car is in my house garage for more than two years without use, leaking oil, broken. I am talking about a 320 with all possible extras existing in 1992. i paid approx. usd 70,000 + duty tax of usd 25,000 in Panama. Conclusion, I spent a fortune in a Mercedes that is a LEMON. Can you please find out if this car was RECALLED or a lot of problem reported by others owners.
