Vehicle looks great. Problem is now it is dangerous to drive, frame completely rusted out on rear suspension. Rear right shock came thru into the interior of vehicle. I have good photos, but your site even though it says "pdf ok" to use it will not let me upload them.

Rear right shock mount has rusted through the floor. This is a really common issue on this model as well as the Ford escape of year 2004-2006... Quoted 5400$ by a local mechanic shop to replace the wheel well, and they seemed like they didn't really want to touch it. Couldn't afford that anyway, so I have searched for other options. I found out an auxiliary shock mount kit that can solve this problem quite easily, which I personnally choosed to order from Ebay and install by myself. I simply had to bolt this bracket on my frame according to the instructions. It holds the upper end of the shock absorber right where it has to be held by the original mount (rusted through). I then patched the hole in the wheel well with the fiberglass gear provided. Nothing very complicated. 200$ + 40$ of shipping and 4-5 hours of job in my driveway, and it's driving nice and safely just like before. Not that bad for an issue that was first supposed to cost me more than the actual value of my car!
