I had the factory stereo replaced once under factory warranty. The first time it went out, CD player quit working all together. Mazda replaced it and a few months went by and the 2nd went out. I called Mazda to inquire about my 2nd failed factory CD player and they said that it could not be replaced a 2nd time under warranty and would cost a few hundred dollars. So after a month or 2 driving around with no CD player, I finally chunked it out the window on the highway and bought me a used Pioneer.
