Our 2003 Mazda Tribute is on its 3rd alternator at a cost of $500.
a pop to replace them. One may wonder why? The alternator onthsi vehicle is located below the engine down beside the exhaust. So not only does it get soaked when it rains, it also gets fried dry by exhaust heat. Mazda was contacted about this and denied a problem. A little internet research revealed a fair number of Tributes has fried up alternators. This was sent to Mazda Canada, however, they are in denial. For these repeating irritations that are expensive one can only suggest that consumers go to small claims court to gain compensation. Perhaps then Customer Service will live up to its name. In the meantime, we will be ZOOM-ZOOMING to hell away from my Mazda very shortly.
