When I kept buying the belt from Canadian Tire ( an OEM dealer ) , the belts kept on burning and eventually breaking. After going through 4 belts and replacing my alternator, I then did some research and found out that the part # on the belt that you get from Canadian Tire is the wrong one, in fact they don't even carry the right one! You have to go to the Mazda dealership and pay around $40.00 to get the proper belt. The belt that was burning off had a groove depth of 0.80 and the pulley was made for 1.00 depth. The belt from Mazda is 1.00 depth, that is the one you need to replace it with.
