This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My experience has been that when ever it rains (hard with wind) my air filter somehow gets soaked in wet. When I explain this to a mechanic or anyone for that matter, the first question they ask me is whether I drove on puddle of water on the road. The answer is "no!" when it is raining that hard I don't go anywhere and therefore the car is just parked on the parking lot. I've taken to Mazda one and the ran a test and found nothing. Meanwhile "my engine" light stays on. I have a spare air filter that I use. In the meantime what can I do?.
