I have a 2002 Mazda Miata MX5 LS. This is the one with a 6 speed, it hauls ass. I have had a problem with it for about a year now. IT PINGS, I always use the best gas super 91 or above Chevron or 76, I have wasted approx. $1,500.00 on garages that are guessing, the Dealership says carbon buildup in the intake manifold. Had it cleaned several times, same problem, it pings. I have had close to everything under the hood changed but the engine, The car is super fast, 130 mph. stone stock. But it pings, I personally thought that the timing chain had
skipped a tooth, it was all good. The anti-knock sensor was $300.00 wasted.
My grand total is more like $2,000.00, I could have bought a new engine. Once again everything that is bolted on or around the engine has been changed. I have had the car for 4 years, this problem just came up a year ago, Before I push this car off a cliff, I would love to find out what it is,
PS. On this year the timing cannot be changed, it's all done by the computer, it was perfect anyway.....If someone knows the correct answer, I might even pay you. I am giving my E mail
I Don't care if everyone in the World has it, help my MX-5....danedwardsoc@gmail.com...
