Before this issue I was the biggest advocate not only for the Mazda 6 but Mazda I general. I detail my car every weekend I hand wash it at home with 3 bucket method, installed front and rear dash cam, spent well over $1000 to wrap the entire hood, fenders, Front bumper, headlights and side mirrors in Xpel Ultimate. I had always wanted a Mazda 6 and I oved this car it was my hobby. Now I feel like a fool. I couldn't see myself ever buying anything but a Mazda but now I cannot say enough horrible about Mazda will never own another. I mean it is a 2017 year model car with a automatic transmission that destroyed itself. I currently own a 2011 Dodge Avenger with over 250000 miles that has never had a single transmission or engine problem. A Dodge of all things I have probably over 400 recalls but no transmission problem cannot believe how ridiculous it is to have a transmission go out in a brand new car after a year.

Update from May 31, 2019: Transmission failed outside of power train warranty. Car was maintained according to manufacturers recommend service at each interval at the dealership. Other than faint high pitched whining, that was assumed normal no warning signs before failure, no hard shifting, hesitation, or service engine/ transmission lights or error codes. Tsb was issued by Mazda in March of 2019 calling for replacement of automatic transmission in vehicles that had whining. But at time the tsb was issued car was already out 60,000 power train warranty having 79,000. Vehicle is still financed $18,000 -new auto transmission cost is $5000 out of pocket. Mazda doesn't offer er-manufactured on these transmissions and I could not find anyone that would touch. Therefore I only afford used transmission. Have no faith used or even a new transmission would last if it is a design failure.
