Very, Very poor supply chain management for an automotive company. No windshields? National backorder? Love the car, and I cannot for sure fault Mazda for a faulty windshield, although when I went into work after lunch on 5/7/14 the windshield was fine. Came out at 5 p.m. to 18" crack.
National windshield replacement chain advised the windshields were on national backorder...could be 2 weeks, could be 2 months. Dealer confirmed backorder issue. Well going on 6 weeks now...
Gee, I wonder what else could be backordered in future? This will definitely not be forgotten in Future car purchase considerations....
Why no replacement windshields? I have been lied to about matter. Still no assurance for t.a. for glass. This is not a mechanical issue. It is a safety issue. It is also against local law to drive with cracked windshield where it can hamper drivers vision. What should I do, park the car and rent a car? Would cost more than the cost of a new window! Does the lemon law apply ? As having owned 6 Mazdas, I may be through with Mazda!
