The contact owns a 2014 Mazda 6. while the vehicle was parked, the engine failed to turn off after the 'start/stop' button was depressed. After six or seven attempts of depressing the button, the engine finally turned off. Within the past two weeks, the failure occurred five other times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (Mazda of milford, 915 boston post road, milford, Connecticut 06460) where it was diagnosed that the shifter assembly failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.
