Bought. A 2011 Mazda 6, and took it to a Mazda dealer for an inspection. They found the rear sub frame ie rear cradle to be extremely rusted out, the shocks on both side are detached, and the springs look like they may push through at any point and do more damage. The car is unsafe to drive and the dealer estimated a repair cost or $4322.99 to fix.

Rear K frame is completely rusted out. You investigated the front frame rust issues on these cars which resulted in a Mazda recall. However, the rear frame with the same structure weaknesses was left out. As a result Mazda is refusing to fix or replace thousands of vehicles. Mazda forums are full of drivers with this same exact issue. If these frames start to fail while being driven I see the potential for injuries or loss of life.

The door lock mechanism on my drivers side rear door does not lock completely. It has to be manually pushed in about 4-5mm in order to engage the lock. After locking, the door can be unlocked after pulling the outside handle 2 times, setting the alarm off. This is extremely unsafe if traveling through dangerous areas or if the vehicle were to be approached by someone with an ill intent while the vehicle is occupied.

Mazda will only replace dashboards for melting and sticky dashboards. They know there is a problem with the material used. They will not replace dashboards that are cracking. My concern is the cracking is over passenger side airbag. I fell this could be a problem. The airbag should not be compromised and contained in a faulty cracked dash. I believe Toyota and Lexus had the same problem but they owed up to it and replaced dashboards that were melting and cracking. Mazda refuses.

While driving to work on 290 in the morning traffic doing speeds around (30-50mph) the steering wheel began progressively rotating counter-clockwise with the vehicle pulling drastically to the right. The dynamic stability control turned off as if the vehicle was out of control and the vehicle acted as if it were on icy/slick surfaces no longer providing support to the driver. The steering/braking system began to struggle nearly causing an accident on the expressway causing a fishtail with the ABS attempting to engage. At this point the steering wheel was registering straight’ with the steering wheel turned approximately 90 degrees left. thankfully I was able to exit the expressway and pull into a just tires shop, who informed me the front subframe has rusted completely thru and even twisted due to the corrosion. Now my 2011 Mazda6 is not drivable and hopefully NHTSA will force Mazda to do a recall for subframes before someone is killed in an accident.

Passenger side dashboard is getting a sticky surface on top. The top layer almost seems like it is melting. It is just starting to get sticky and it is just on top. The stickiness has just started in the last 2 weeks. The sticky surface is causing a glare and is affecting the visibility when driving. Further, the dashboard cracked all the way down after having the air bag replaced due to the recall. No pressure/damage/hits has occurred on the dashboard by consumer and yet it cracked all the way down in January 2018.

I had to replace the batteriess on both remotes that open the doors at least 4 times a year since I owned the car. I feel this is a safety hazard since I can not get in my car unless I use the key. I also have no access to the emergency button on the remote with a dead battery.

The vehicle's car alarm goes off at random times. Generally it seems to happen only in warmer weather and/or only if the key fob is within a certain distance. So far changing batteries in both the car and the key fob have not changed anything. There appears to be flaw in the door mechanisms that make the car think someone is breaking in due to loss of contact when the car has been locked. This only happens when the car is parked and locked by any method. It does not happen if the vehicle is let unlocked or in cooler temperatures. This issue has been ongoing for the past three years.

The ac compressor clutch locked up and caused the belt to make loud screeching noises. Also, something burning could be smelled inside the engine and burnt rubber was flung around the engine compartment. Another issue: Read about this a lot because I am experiencing it, the passenger-side dash is melting. Seems they used a cheap material and when it gets above 80 degrees outside the dash begins to melt. It is sticky, leaves a residue on your fingers, and produces an extreme glare. The ac went out while I was in the drive-through ordering food. The dash board has been melting since last summer and has not gotten any better. Stopped melting during the winter and began melting now that it's summer again.

My 2011 Mazda6 is in excellent condition. However, the dashboard on the passenger side has and is melting causing a very bad glare that obstructs ones view. I've read there's been many complaints and class action lawsuits. Mazda needs to do what's right for their consumers and put their safety first! my son is using this car for college and just sent me pictures of the glare he sees. Something needs to be done before lives are lost.

Sometime around the beginning of June I thought my children had spilled something on the passenger dash by the windshield. It turns out it is not a spill, the dash is sticky, shiny, and it is soft and melting. I can stick my nail into the dashboard; it is like hot black asphalt where you walk with heels and the heel goes into the black asphalt. Since I realized this, the area that is soft, sticky/melting is progressing farther down the dash toward the glove box. My car has 46,000 miles and is out of warranty with Mazda. Additionally I had a headlight on the front driver side out; after researching on youtube, I found out that I can bang the clear headlight shield with my hand and the light turns back on. These are the two issues I am alerting about as there are numerous accounts of corroboration on the web and youtube from Mazda owners about both these same problems.
